UPAC Linear Sites Guidelines

In January 2008, the Utah Professional Archaeological Council (UPAC) endorsed these guidelines for recording linear sites. The guidelines are the result of a subcommittee representing agency, consultant, and state archaeologists working to produce a best management practices guide. The guidelines are ready to be tested and evaluated in the field.

These guidelines have been endorsed by the Utah Department of Transportation, the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) West Desert District (formerly the Salt Lake and Fillmore Field Offices), Forest Service Intermountain Region, and the Utah State Historic Preservation Office.

A forum/comments section is below to allow discussion of the guidelines and to recommend improvements.

Comments may also be emailed directly to Matt Seddon, chair of the UPAC Linear Sites Committee.
