Would you like the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) to hear your recommendations and advice about cultural resources on Utah’s federal public lands? Here’s your chance.

BLM recently requested public nominations for the Utah Resource Advisory Council (RAC). RACs provide advice and recommendations to the BLM on land use planning and management of the National System of Public Lands within the geographic areas for which the RACs are organized. RACs include three membership categories, including one that may appoint a representative for archaeological and historical interests. According to the Utah RAC webpage, “Members are appointed to three-year terms and may be reappointed for one additional term. Council members must be Utah residents. Members serve without salary but are reimbursed for travel and per diem expenses”.

This is a unique opportunity. The Executive Committee encourages UPAC members to apply. Applications must be received no later than October 26, 2026. For more information, please see the Supplementary Information subsection in the Federal Register announcement and the Utah RAC webpage.
