Historic Contexts for Archaic Sites and Historic Roads in the Cedar City Area

The Cedar City BLM and the Utah SHPO are pleased to circulate the new Multiple Property Forms (Historic Contexts) for Archaic Sites and Historic Roads in the greater Cedar City area.

These historic contexts use the National Register of Historic Places format to expedite identification and appropriate assessment of the significance of historic properties within this framework that is familiar to Section 106 participants.

We encourage all consultants and other agencies working in this area to review these new documents and see how they could be utilized to streamline contextualizing and assessing while simultaneously strengthening eligibility justifications.

Another way of helping us all do our job better and more efficiently! Dr. Merritt gives a special shoutout to the Cedar City BLM for the foresight on generating this project and kudos to SRI for the hard work they put into their generation.
