The Utah SHPO has a comprehensive document on what is required to conduct archaeological investigations in Utah. A recent update to this document flags some key changes. The biggest is combining the Architectural and Archaeology guidance into one cohesive document, and then some guidance on property types.
You can download the entire document below, and the Utah SHPO has also provided a shorter version highlighting the changes.
You can contact Savanna Agardy (Compliance Archaeologist) or Chris Hansen (Architectural Compliance, Deputy SHPO) if you have questions about these changes or about how to conduct archaeological work in Utah.
