Those of us who are long in the tooth will remember and appreciate Dave's contribution to Utah archaeology as a consultant, as the assistant state archaeologist to David Madsen, and a scholar. For me, Dave was a dear friend and mentor. After moving to different states with the love of his life, Dr. Karen Lupo, Dave conducted archaeological and enthnoarchaeological research in various countries, most notably Africa. His list of publications, many with Karen, is to me mind boggling.

Rest in peace, my friend. And peace be with you, Karen.
