As announced at the PLPCO meeting, UDOT is hosting a training for CRM professionals in architectural history and buildings survey in Utah. This is a great opportunity to grow your skills, expand company services, or see if this work interests you. We had a great response and in conjunction with the Utah SHPO, UDOT is happy to announce the details of this training:
Section 106 Architectural History Training
The Utah Department of Transportation (UDOT) and the Utah State Historic Preservation Office (SHPO) invite you to participate in a Section 106 Architectural History Training. The training will introduce participants to Section 106 architectural review and prepare participants to undertake architectural surveys on behalf of UDOT and other government agencies.
The classroom training will occur on May 13, 2024, from 9:00-4:00 at the UDOT Central Offices (4501 Constitution Blvd, Taylorsville, Redwood Rm. B). The training will also involve a field study in a nearby Salt Lake City neighborhood. An online option will be available for the classroom portion of the training, however the field component must be completed to gain qualifications for the course. Additional field dates will be provided in the Fall 2024.

Architectural History of Utah (1840s-1980s)
National Register of Historic Places Assessment
Architectural Integrity Assessment
Field Data Collection Standards
Section 106/404 Compliance
UDOT Architectural Survey Methods
